Vincent’s Treasures Mural Unveiled

Congratulations to the pupils at St. Mark's Primary School, Oval on the unveiling of three murals as part of the Vincent's Treasures project.

We are delighted to announce the unveiling of three large scale murals at St Mark’s Primary School, Oval.

The murals depict the trees that the school’s classes are named after and some of the animals that make their homes near them. Pupils from years 2, 4 and 5 took part in workshops with visiting artists Janet Currier and Lucy Hall over the space of three months. They learned all about the trees and their diverse habitats and developed their design, drawing and painting skills.

The mural is part of Vincent’s Treasures, an initiative run in partnership with Oval Learning, Van Gogh House and local primary schools. The project sets out to create arts-based learning opportunities in an area where many children are experiencing social and economic hardship – especially during the pandemic.
