Vincent’s Brixton
Pulp Rocket Theatre
The Van Gogh House collaborated with Pulp Rocket Theatre, an emerging theatre company founded by LAMDA graduates Sam Hill and James Musgrave to stage “Vincent’s Brixton” at 87 Hackford Road. The performance weaves together Van Gogh’s letters and scenes from Nicholas Wright’s “Vincent in Brixton”, a play which opened at the National Theatre in 2002 and was originally set in the kitchen at 87 Hackford Road.
As the performance unfolds within the very walls where Van Gogh penned his letters and Wright’s narrative unravels, an intimate portrayal of Van Gogh’s time in London and his relationship with the Loyer family emerges.
