Van Gogh House Guided Tours

We offer tours on the last Saturday and Sunday of each month.

Our guided tours offer visitors an opportunity to learn about our most famous tenant, as well as the architecture, history, and future of the house. We provide a unique insight into Van Gogh’s everyday existence in Victorian London, as well as a glimpse into the way ordinary people lived.

Tours last about an hour and fifteen minutes and includes a short walk to set our local context. Tickets cost £12, with discounts for Friends and students.

Unfortunately, our tours are not suitable for children. However, we do host children’s workshops; sessions take place every last Sunday of the month from 10am to 11.30am and booking is essential.

Walking Tours

We partner with Footprints of London on a walking tour that retraces Van Gogh’s walk from his office in Covent Garden to his lodgings at 87 Hackford Road.

This extensive tour covers a 3½ mile journey (which Van Gogh alleges he did in 45 minutes!) exploring what London would have been like in the early 1870s. The first part of the tour traces the river Thames along what was then the newly built Victoria Embankment and across Westminster Bridge which Van Gogh sketched on Goupil and Co headed notepaper. The walk is followed by a guided tour of Van Gogh House.
